Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash Extensions are individual strands of synthetic fibers made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. The single strands are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.
Lash extensions are applied in a comfortable, spa-like setting. You will be lying down with your eyes closed and the application usually takes about 1.5 hours for a full set. The application time may vary depending on your choice of lash, fullness, and other factors. Your lashes will be prepped and a gel eye pad will be placed to protect your bottom lashes. The extensions are then gently placed one by one onto your natural lash.
Your eyelashes have a life cycle of growing and shedding, much like the hair on other parts of your body. Your lash artist is expertly trained based on the growth cycle of eyelashes and will only attach lash extensions to adult lashes, leaving young lashes to fully develop. As long as you allow your lash extensions to grow out naturally and avoid pulling on or picking at them, your natural lashes will not be compromised.
It is best to avoid mascara with lash extensions. Certain formulas of mascara can weaken the lash adhesive which will promote premature shedding and shorten the life of your extensions. Additionally, many makeup removers are oil-based, and using them to remove mascara from your lash extensions will also contribute to premature shedding.
Plan to be in the lash studio for 2 hours for your first visit. Refill appointments are generally shorter, around 1 – 1.5 hours.
Skincare
A facial is essentially a multi-step skin treatment that focuses on treating the skin on the face neck and décolleté. A facial will deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and nourish the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion and restoring the skin to its optimal balance. You also receive a complete skin care consultation on the best way to take care of your skin at home. To achieve desired results, a facial works best when it is part of an ongoing program of skincare. Most treatments are recommended in a series of 6 for results in conjunction with an at-home skincare regimen between treatments.
Chemical Peels are categorized by their strength, Superficial Peels being the mildest type, it is typically referred to as, “the lunchtime peel.” The most common acids used in Superficial Peels are Glycolic Acid, Lactic and Salicylic Acid. These peeling agents are blended with other mild ingredients to create a liquid or paste formula that is applied to the skin for about 15 minutes or less and will only penetrate the dermis. This process breaks down the intercellular glue that connects the skin’s top layer, causing dead skin cells to shed off to reveal the fresh, healthy underlying skin. Chemical Peels are customized to treat each skin type individually. Superficial Peels are highly beneficial to address minor skin irregularities like discoloration, acne, surface scarring, fine lines, and sunspots. Always recommended in a series of 6 treatments to optimal results.
Enzymes are the gentlest form of a peel – only focusing on breaking down dead skin cells leaving fresh healthy live skin cells behind. Enzyme peels offer the gentlest solution and can be incorporated into any skincare regimen. Enzyme treatments can speed up the natural cell turnover rate in the skin by promoting the renewal of healthy skin cells and eating away dead cells. These treatments are a great starting point in treating age spots, fine lines, and discoloration. Enzymes also penetrate the skin and deep cleanse pores and improving skin tone and texture. Enzyme peels will only eat away at dead cells, making this the ideal treatment for almost all skin types. Because live skin is not affected by this treatment, there’s no downtime or recovery. Enzyme peels will immediately deliver visible results to the skin. Enzymes are naturally derived from fruit sources such as papain from papaya, bromelain from pineapple, pumpkin pulp, blueberry, or lemon extracts. Because enzymes are so gentle they can be used frequently to restore skin and prepare it for proper hydration balance.
Dermaplaning is an effective and safe form of manual exfoliation. A sterile surgical scalpel is used to shave the surface of the skin to remove dead skin and peach fuzz hairs. The scalpel is held at 45 degrees and is gently brushed along the skin which removes both the hair and dead skin cells. Dermaplaning is only performed on the face to remove vellus hair. This procedure is never to be used for shaping the eyebrows, which the hair is much thicker. Dermaplaning is most commonly performed as a stand-alone treatment or can be incorporated into a facial or a peel. It allows for deeper product penetration which enhances the efficacy of peels, masks, and other products used following the dermaplaning process. This treatment results in smoother looking and feeling skin while also reducing the appearance of acne scarring. The ideal way to remove “peach fuzz”, can soften the appearance of fine lines, great for almost all skin types and reveals instant results without any downtime. Dermaplaning can be performed every three to four weeks from the last treatment after the skin has fully rejuvenated.
Sugaring
Sugaring is an organic form of hair removal dating back to ancient Egyptian times. Sugar is a water-soluble paste made of lemon (citric acid), sugar, and water. It looks just like honey with a much thicker consistency, and it’s so natural you can actually eat it. Sugar itself is also anti-bacterial by nature. The ingredients found in sugaring paste are both natural and safe for the environment.
A single ball of sugar is applied with gloved hands, and the glove is replaced every time we take more sugar from its container. Every step of our expert sugaring experience is super clean and hygienic. There is never any “double-dipping” during the sugaring process, so you never need to worry about cleanliness or cross-contamination.
No! Your hair only needs to be 1/8th of an inch long (about the size of a grain of rice) for the sugaring paste to adhere to.
Some clients experience a little redness for an hour or so. Sugaring consistently will result in less hair growing back, and the hair that does grow back will be thinner and softer.
Most clients who get sugared regularly come every three to four weeks.
