The answer comes down to two things: how much time has passed since your last appointment and how many extensions you still have. Get those two variables right and you will always book the correct service, protect your natural lashes, and get the most consistent results from your set.
The Purpose of a Fill
A fill exists to maintain what is already there. It is not a repair appointment and it is not a shortcut to a full set. It is the scheduled maintenance that keeps a healthy, well-retained set looking full and even as your natural lashes move through their growth cycle.
When you come in within two to three weeks of your last appointment with around 40 to 50 percent of your extensions still intact, your lash artist adds fresh extensions to the new lash growth that has come in since your last visit and blends everything seamlessly with what remains. Done at the right time, a fill is indistinguishable from a brand new set walking out the door.

A full set is a fresh start. Every extension is applied to a clean lash line, which gives your artist complete control over the shape, density, curl, and length from the very first lash. The result is the most even, intentional, and consistent outcome possible because nothing is being worked around or blended into.
A full set is the right appointment for first-time clients, for clients who are making a significant style change, and for anyone returning after a longer break from extensions. It is also simply the better service when the remaining lashes are too sparse or uneven to build a fill on top of.
When We Recommend a Full Set Over a Fill
We recommend a full set when it has been more than four to five weeks since your last appointment. At that point enough natural lashes have cycled through that the remaining extensions are too sparse and unevenly distributed to produce a fill result worth investing in.
We recommend a full set when fewer than 40 percent of your extensions remain regardless of timing. Retention varies from client to client based on aftercare, natural lash cycle, and lifestyle, and sometimes a set thins faster than expected. When the foundation is too sparse, building on top of it shortchanges the result.
We recommend a full set when you want a meaningful style change. Switching from classic to volume, changing your curl type, adjusting your length significantly, or wanting a noticeably different shape all require starting fresh.
We recommend a full set for first-time clients and for clients transferring from another salon whose existing extensions are not compatible with our technique, our curl selection, or the health standards we hold for the natural lash underneath.

Can I get a fill if my lashes were done at a different salon?
